Professor Rohde is a Full Professor of Psychiatry at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. He leads the ADHD Program at Hospital de Clinicas de Porto Alegre and is a level 1A researcher at the National Research Council (CNPq). He is also vice coordinator of the National Institute of Developmental Psychiatry for Childhood and Adolescence (INPD). Internationally, Prof. Rohde is the current President of the International Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions (IACAPAP) and a past President of the World Federation of ADHD. He has published over 460 scientific articles and authored or edited 9 books. With an H-index of 90 and nearly 49,000 citations, he has been recognized as a top 1% researcher in psychology and psychiatry (2020-2023) by Clarivate. Prof. Rohde will be leading the Part 3 of this 4-part Lancet Psychiatry Series on ADHD.

Professor Jeffrey Newcorn is a leading clinician-researcher specialising in ADHD, aggression, and child and adolescent psychopharmacology. His research integrates clinical and translational approaches, including neurobiology and pharmacogenetics. He has played significant roles in major studies like the NIMH-funded Multimodal Treatment of Children with ADHD (MTA) and has published extensively on ADHD treatment and neurobiological mechanisms. His current work focuses on differential responses to ADHD treatments and the neurobiological basis of substance abuse risk in individuals with ADHD.

Professor Gail Tripp is a clinical psychologist and professor at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST), where she leads research on the etiology and management of ADHD. She established the OIST Children’s Research Center, focusing on ADHD in both English and Japanese-speaking children and families. Her work emphasises the development and evaluation of interventions for ADHD, building on her experience as a professor at the University of Otago, where she developed an active research program in child psychology.

Professor Susan M. Sawyer holds the Geoff and Helen Handbury Chair of Adolescent Health at the University of Melbourne and directs the Centre for Adolescent Health at the Royal Children’s Hospital, a WHO collaborating center. A global leader in adolescent health, she has served as the president of the International Association for Adolescent Health and held advisory roles with WHO, UNICEF, and UNFPA. Her work focuses on advancing global standards in adolescent health and promoting health across developmental stages.

Dr. Martin Gignac is Chief of Psychiatry at Sainte-Justine University Hospital in Canada. After completing his psychiatry training at the Université de Montréal and a fellowship in pediatric psychopharmacology at Harvard, he has focused on severe disruptive disorders, including ADHD. Dr. Gignac has held leadership roles at McGill University and has been deeply involved in clinical research, contributing to advancements in the understanding and treatment of ADHD and related disorders.

Professor Li Yang is a research scientist at the Chinese Institute of Brain Research and Deputy Director of Child and Adolescent Mental Health at Peking University Sixth Hospital. Her work includes clinical diagnosis, cognitive neuropsychology, and pharmacogenomics, with a focus on ADHD and other developmental disorders. Professor Yang has contributed to over 30 research projects and has published extensively in top academic journals, receiving accolades like the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award.

Andrea Bilbow is the founder and CEO of the National Attention Deficit Disorder Information and Support Service (ADDISS) in the UK. Her work has been pivotal in providing support, education, and advocacy for individuals with ADHD and their families, making a significant impact on ADHD awareness and treatment in the UK.

Dr. Zuleika Morillo de Nieto is President of the Latin American Federation and Association of Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists and related professions, as well as the Latin American League for the Study of ADHD. She is also the Chief General Manager of Mental Health Services at Robert Reid Cabral Hospital and Chief Clinical Manager at CPE Renovatus in Santo Domingo. Dr. Morillo de Nieto’s work focuses on advancing child and adolescent mental health in Latin America through leadership and clinical innovation.

Professor Renata Schoeman is a psychiatrist and head of the MBA in Healthcare Leadership at Stellenbosch Business School. She is also the convenor of the South African Society of Psychiatrists Special Interest Group for ADHD and serves on the Ministerial Advisory Board for Mental Health, South Africa. Professor Schoeman is a co-founder and director of the Goldilocks and The Bear Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to early identification and support of children with ADHD in underprivileged communities. Her work extends beyond academia, actively engaging in mental health advocacy, research, and public education both nationally and internationally.

Dr. Yewande Oshodi is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Lagos and a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Lagos University Teaching Hospital. Her research emphasizes child and adolescent mental health, and she is a founding faculty member of the Centre for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders (CANDDo). Dr. Oshodi is also the current Secretary General of the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions (IACAPAP), where she plays a key role in global mental health advocacy.

Dr. Péter Nagy is the Chief of the Division of Neurodevelopmental Disorders at Bethesda Children’s Hospital in Budapest, Hungary. His clinical and research focus is on ADHD and tic disorders, building on his extensive experience in neurodevelopmental disorders at Hungary’s only dedicated child psychiatric clinic. Dr. Nagy is an active member of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology and the president of the Hungarian Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions.

Dr. Xue Li is an Assistant Professor at HKU, jointly appointed by the Department of Medicine and the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy. Her research interests include health technology assessment, health economics, and real-world outcomes research. Dr. Li is particularly skilled in healthcare data analytics and cost-effectiveness modeling, leading numerous projects that influence health policy and practice in Hong Kong and beyond.
